The Industrial Revolution By: Andrew Stewart
The Industrial Revolution really has benefited us today. It was started in Great Britain and spread to the U.S. and almost the rest of Europe. It took place between 1760 and roughly 1840.
During the Industrial Revolution, agriculture was made easier. New Machines were used to help take care of the land and the animals, and more crops were discovered. More crops means more food and with all the food they discovered people from this generation were able to combine foods to make even more food.

The Mines also became more successful as the end of Child Labour dawned forth. The British made a cart that could transport more coal and iron than the children could, making it more efficient, and the children didn't have to slave in the hot mine shafts which could stretch to be 2 kilometers long. These changes benefit us to having to write this article rather than transporting coal and iron each day.

One of the greatest inventions during this period of time was the steam engine by Thomas Newcomen and James Watt in the early 1700's. It really changed their lives and ours. If the steam engine was not invented, there may have not been any transportation. Vehicles require an engine to run so without this there may not have been a gas engine based off of this. The steam engine brought another form of transportation being the train which could be used to get to places that are far away. The train is still used today and has plenty of humans using them.

Textiles and Business had a huge takeoff during this time. With all the time freed up by machines people began making there own things to sell at a market. Clothing, Tools, Crops, etc. People also opened shops which were successful. Take someone that was a good farmer but not great with sewing things. They could
1) Sell crops at the market and make money or
2) They could trade crops
and get the clothing they need so they can continue to grow crops.

Our view of people has changed significantly over the past 3000 years. People are more free because of the change that machines made for us. It's better that we can wake up, eat breakfast and do what we want rather than having to be waken up by others and thrown straight in the hot mines to slave.
People were also more successful with the evolution of textiles and shops and as this progressed, more money was made and more objects were made.
The Steam Engine also helped us today because most of the people in Canada use vehicles for transportation.

With every thing that we have today the Industrial Revolution could be a reason that you have that banana is your lunch. Crops were expanded and used more often meaning we have A LOT of crops worldwide. Our Freedom can be based from the Revolution because at the beginning of the revolution kids were slaves and at the end we were all good. We don't have to slave meaning we are free.
